Header, footer, and navigation

Documentation home

The header and footer are shared global content. Open their global-content editor from a page, review the changes, and publish deliberately: pages using that shared content can all be affected.

Both areas start with Company Name. Enter your actual organization name. The logo field can inherit the account's brand logo or use an override. Where a usable logo and accessible name are present, the image is shown; otherwise the company name provides text branding.

Supply meaningful logo alt text. The company name is the fallback accessible name when image alt text is absent. Set Brand destination if the branding should link to your home page; without a destination it remains unlinked. Header/footer maximum logo width is controlled in theme settings.

Header menu and action

  1. Create or edit your account's HubSpot navigation menu with the intended labels, destinations, and hierarchy.
  2. Select it in Navigation menu in the header module.
  3. Configure the optional primary action with both an action label and destination.
  4. Preview the menu, nested items, and action at desktop and mobile sizes.

No menu is selected initially. A blank menu does not generate sample navigation. The mobile menu button is shown when a menu or configured action exists. Submenus use separate disclosure buttons; keyboard users can open them and use Escape to close them.

Keep the mobile menu button, submenu prefix, navigation landmark, and skip-link labels meaningful. The optional language control depends on available published HubSpot translations; it does not create translations or automatically translate menus.

Configure company/contact rich text, company and additional navigation menus, legal links, copyright text, and optional social links. Supply only contact details and profiles you intend to publish. Blank contact content and unselected menus are not filled with sample details.

Social links need a visible label and destination. A selected but empty menu may still leave a navigation region, so populate the menu or deselect it. Preview the public page as well as the editor.

Before publishing shared changes

Check the logo's accessible name, brand destination, every menu link, mobile open/close behavior, and footer contact/legal links. Review more than one page using the shared content.
